 Lets face it anything for free these days is more than likely going to cost you something down the line, and I would be the first person to warn people away from “Amazing Free” products as most of them are scams, but OpenDNS is a service that is truly and simply amazing. It works by you registering for a free account with no strings and changing your DNS settings on your PC to the OpenDNS ones, don’t worry about the technical bit they tell you everything to do clearly, its not rocket science

From there you can setup your Content Filtering options by choosing the preset selections or creating your own, once saved all traffic from your PC will be checked by OpenDNS against the filter and stop unwanted websites and pop-ups appearing by displaying an OpenDNS page. You can also monitor usage and block specific sites yourself. I would highly recommend it.
